JCE approves protocol for printing voter rolls
SD. The Plenary of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) approved yesterday the protocol for the printing of the voting rolls, a process that will begin on Monday in the presence of the technical delegates of the different political parties.

This protocol also includes the approval of a random sampling of the voter rolls that will go to press, for a comparison with the voter rolls that the political parties have in their possession.

The meeting of the Plenary took place in the afternoon, while at the same time the technical delegates from the different parties held a meeting at the JCE headquarters where, according to information released, they went over last minute details related with the definitive voter registration rolls.

At the end of the meeting, the technical delegate for the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Robert Arias, reiterated to the press the call to the JCE that the transfer of 114,000 voters, a process which he said that, in spite of its normalcy, makes it necessary that the parties know which voters have been transferred from their polling stations and election districts.

He denied that he had said in his statements regarding this issue "had been taken out of context", as were indicated by the president of the JCE Roberto Rosario, and, minutes before Rosario's comments, the technical delegate of the Dominican Liberation Party PLD) Danilo Diaz.

He also rejected the story that the PRD has requested that the printing of the voter registration rolls be halted until the audit being carried out by the Organization of American States (OAS) is finished.
