In 2011 nine ARS were in the red and three left SDSS

SD. Of the Health Risk Administrators (ARS) of the Dominican Social Security System (SDSS), three disappeared and nine closed out the year 2011 in the red, with reports of losses of as much as RD$4,880,404.00, as was the case of the ARS Semunased, which served nurses and their dependents.

The total net losses were RD$787,680,150.00; with 90.34% in accidents and3.52% in benefits. The ARS that disappeared last year were the UASD, Plamedin and Galeno.

According to the financial statements reported by the ARS to the Superintendent of Health and Labor Risks (Sisalril), the ARS of the Dominican Medical College (ARS CMD) closed last year with a negative showing of net RD$30,524,504.00; 105.53% in accidents and -18.72% in benefits.

The ARS Salud Segura of the Dominican Social Security Institute (IDSS) closes in red with losses of RD$118,898,493.00: 89.75% in accidents and -7.68% in benefits.

Other insurers that closed in red are the ARS Humano, La Colonial, Servicios Dominicanos de Salud, Plan Salud, Senasa and Reservas.

The financial statements of Humano were minus RD$122.806,061.00; is accidents the results were 87% and the benefits were -1.75%.

In La Colonial the numbers are minus RD$54.419,141.00; 107.41% in accidents and -12.38% in benefits.

Following in this order, in the ARS Servicios Dominicanos de Salud (Dominican Health Services) the negative results were down RD$13,538,374.00; 79.84% in accidents and -1.91% in benefits.

In the meantime, in the ARS Plan de Salud, there were red numbers for RD$37,900,960.00; 114.37% in accidents and -50.45% in benefits. For the ARS Senasa (Payroll deduction scheme), the numbers are RD$882,905,105.00 in the red, 15.61% in accidents and net benefits -24.85%.

Palic and Universal

At ARS Reservas, the numbers in red were minus RD$62,412,558.00: 131.5% in accidents and -31.39% in benefits.

And then the company Palic Health (Palic Salud) was the one with the largest earnings, according to it report and they grew to RD$71,249,057.00 in net earnings and Universal reported RD$97,574,667.00.
