SD. The Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) is hurrying to issue its decision today, at 9:00 a.m., on the appeal to annul the suspension of Miguel Vargas Maldonado, as president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), together with another three leaders of the organization who are his followers. The appeal also includes a request to annul the expulsion of another seven persons by the Political Commission headed by Hipolito Mejia.
The president of the high court, Mariano Rodriguez, convened the parties to be present in the court session in which the decision will be read.
Those that were removed from the party are Annie Filipe, Kalil Michel, Angelita Peña, Hector (Papin) Dominguez, Saturnino Espinal, Pascual Valenzuela, and Victor Gomez Casanova.
In the meantime, the Vargas Maldonado sector seeks to annul the seventh resolution which found serious faults and ordered the suspension of Rafael Vasquez (Fiquito) in his function as a national vice president and president ex oficio of the overseas sections of the party and a member of the National Disciplinary Council. The same measure was taken with regard to Julio Mariñez and Anibal Garcia.
