Sales personnel at different pharmacies said that the increases vary between 5% and 10%.
Nevertheless, the president of Pharmacy Carol, Julio Curiel De Moya, said that the increases are between 2% and 3%. He attributes these changes to the movement of the exchange rate.
He recalled that the majority of the pharmaceutical products are imported, as is the raw materials that are use in the country for their elaboration.
Among the medications that went up in price are Co-aprover 150, 12.5 mg which went from RD$1,570 to RD$1,618.50.
