DNCD frustrates drug transaction and arrests eight

SD. Agents from the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) seized two packages of cocaine and arrested eight persons that were traveling in two vehicles, including three members of the National Police assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division (Dicrim) and a corporal of the Army of the Dominican Republic, in an operation that frustrated a deal on the Francisco Alberto Caamaño Avenue.

The spokesman for the anti-drug agency, Miguel Medina, reported that a lieutenant and private of the Police were arrested as they travelled with the two packages of the substance in a Honda Logo (license #A558395), accompanied by a civilian implicated in the seizure, who the officer let go with one of the packages but he was later arrested by members of the DNCD in front of a hotel on George Washington Avenue.

Medina said that three of the civilians arrested were travelling in a Buick Century (license #A430303).
