Four dead and 17 injured in three traffic accidents
SANTO DOMINGO. Four persons died and another 17 were injured in different traffic accidents in El Seibo and Bani.

Among the fatalities are Juan Crispin, 37, and an unidentified Haition, 32, who were travelling in a public transportation bus affiliated with the Seibano Transportation Association, that covers the route between El Seibo and La Romana. The bus hit a dump truck.

In the accident, there were 12 persons injured, including four children.

The incident occurred at Kilometer 5 ofr the El Seibo-Cruce de Pavon highway.

The injured were taken to the Doctor Teofilo Hernandez Hospital and to the Dr. Ricardo Chahin Medical Center. Among those identified are Domingo Ruiz, 70; Armando Mercedes, 68; Esther Mota 29; and the minors Yilsy Damaso and Yeferson Mercedes.

According to witness statements, the dump truck lost a wheel and crashed into the bus that was underway, which then hit a telephone pole. The bus, which belongs to Miguel Quiñonez, was driven by a man known only as Orlando. The name of the dump truck driver is not known.

Brigades from Civil Defense, the fire departments, and the Red Cross moved the injured, and they were waiting for forensics to arrive in order to move the bodies of Crispin and the unidentified Haitian.

On the other hand, two persons died instantaneously and another five were injured when they pickup truck in which they were traveling, crashed with an inter-city bus.

The incident occurred in Paya, Bani, according to information received from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (AMET)

The victims were identified as Rafael Antonio and Jean Carlos Palen, 50 and 45 years old respectively, who were in the gray Mazda pickup (license L 0449906) that ran into the Hyundai minibus (license I 042601).
