CNSS approves coverage for newborns affiliated to the Subsidized Regime

SANTO DOMINGO. The National Council for Social Security (CNSS) approved the affiliation of all newborn children of affiliates of the subsidized regime from the moment of birth.

In an extraordinary meeting headed by the Minister of Labor and President of the CNSS, Maritza Hernandez, issued resolution 351 - 02 which authorizes the National Health Insurance (Senasa) to grant the services of the Basic Health Plan (BBS) to all newborns. The disposition establishes that Senasa should carry out the affiliation to the Dominican System of Social Security (SDS as), and then carry out the notification to the Unique System of Beneficiaries (Siuben), which regulates the process; the Social Security Treasury (TSS) will pay the corresponding per capita charge retroactively for the last year.

The Superintendency of Health and Labor Risks (Sisalril) requested last month the coverage of the newborns by the Family Health Insurance (SFS).
