Rains to continue today because of low pressure trough

SANTO DOMINGO. A low pressure trough, located to the northeast of the country, will continue causing rain showers today over a large part of the national territory, reported the National Office of Meteorology (ONAMET).

The rains are expected - according to the forecast - towards the southeast region, the Northwest, the southeast, the Central Mountains and the frontier area and will occur principally in the afternoon and evening.

Due to the effects of the same low pressure trough yesterday there were rain showers and electrical storms in the National District and another areas of the country. According to the meteorological report, temperatures for greater Santo Domingo will vary between 22°C and 24°C as the lows and 30°C and 32°C as highs.

On the other hand, ONAMET reported that hurricane Edourard does not represent any danger for the country. It is located 1015 km to the east southeast of Bermuda.
