Danilo Medina appoints new officials
Changes in the cabinet could continue today

SANTO DOMINGO. President Danilo Medina issued last night several decrees with which he appointed new officials in different government institutions and the Foreign Service.
In decree 332 - 14 the Chief Executive appointed as the new Minister of Foreign Relations the architect Andres Navarro, in substitution of Carlos Morales Troncoso, who resigned for reasons of health.
In the same decree the President appointed Luis Armando Asunción as Superintendent of Banks, Emilio Olivo, director of the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD), as well as Claudio Jimenez, as administrator of Dominican Markets (Mercadom) in replacement of Eusebio Guzmán, and Claudio Peña as director general of the National Cadastral Office, in substitution of Bolivar Marte.
At the same time, with degree 333 - 14, Mayobanex Escotto was appointed director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom), and Roger Jovert was appointed president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC). Also Juan Rodriguez Nina is the new chairman of the National Energy Commission in substitution of Henrique Ramirez will becomes the special advisor of the Executive Power in the area of renewable energy.
This decree also appointed Cesar Lopez as the director general of Highway and Avenue Beautification; Ana Maria Cleofia Sanchez as the director of the North Santo Domingo Park.
The changes also included the National Institute of Technical Professional Formation (Infotep), where journalist Rafael Ovalle was appointed director, and at the Superintendency of Pensions, whose new head is Ramon Emilio Contreras Genao, who substitutes Joaquin Geronimo.
New consuls
As a new consuls the Chief Executive appointed Esteban Antonio Cruz, in Cape Haitian, Haití; Carmen Milagros Almonte Blanco, in Boston, Massachusetts, United States; Adriano Rafael de los Santos Galva, in Barcelona, Spain; Jaime Manuel Antonio Santelises Rodríguez, in Caracas, Venezuela; and Eduardo Sánchez, in Miami. In addition, Andrés Bocio Fortuna, was named consular minister charged with the counselor area of Belladere, Haití; and Marino Castillo Lacay, was appointed to the same position at the Dominican Embassy in Brazil.
Other changes
Nikauly de la Mota was appointed consular minister in Mexico; Kenia Lora was named to the Board of Directors of Banreservas; Grace Moya was appointed advisor to the permanent Mission before the OAS; Ernesto Reyna, advisor on environmental affairs; Ramon Rivas, advisor on port issues; Martin Zapata, deputy minister of Hacienda; Roberto Cordones, deputy minister of the Interior and Police and Radhames Valenzuela, deputy minister of Agriculture.
