Air France passengers stranded at AILA

Las Americas Airport. Hundreds of Air France passengers were forced to travel on other airlines as a result of the strike which the airline's pilots began last Monday.

Many passengers in this situation have opted to make connections through Air Europa and Iberia, as well as on planes that are going to the city of New York and from there on to France.

Nevertheless, some passengers were stranded at the terminal because they did not have the resources to take other flights that would carry them back to Paris.

As long as the Air France pilots maintain the work stoppage, passengers that have bought tickets on this airline will have to wait, or otherwise buy tickets on other airlines.

The strike by the pilots of Air France was begun last Monday 15 September and if they do not reach a negotiation between the executives of the airline company and the leadership of the Pilots Union the protest action will last until the 22nd of this month.

The unions which bring together not only the pilots but also the flight personnel are calling on the executives of Air France for improved living conditions, including salary increases, saying that they have to face higher expenses on their international flights.
