The President goes to the UN on the 24th and to Italy on the 29th

The Palace said that the Chief Executive would address the UN on an issue that was not specified

SD. President Danilo Medina will address the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York next Wednesday 24 September and on the 29th he will travel to Italy to take part in a session of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).

The information was offered during a press conference by the Communications Director for the Presidency, Roberto Rodriguez Marchena.

Although he did not reveal the issue that the President would deal with during his intervention before the 69th United Nations Assembly, the official did say that it would be during the afternoon.

He reported that as of right now he does not know if the President will travel on the 24th to New York and whether he will come back the same day. Neither did he mention who would be accompanying the Chief of State on his second trip to the United Nations, because last year he did not attend. He said that this information will be released by the Presidency by tomorrow Friday at the latest.

According to Rodriguez Marchena, the agenda includes other commitments which he did not want to reveal.

Four days later, President Medina will travel to Italy attending an invitation by the FAO to speak about his experiences regarding the surprise visits that he is carried out since the start of his administration.

He explained that the surprise visits, or farm policy and to support the small and medium businesses, have been the source interest by some presidents to replicate this experience in their respective countries.
