Medina calls for a discussion on the Electricity Pact
SANTO DOMINGO. President Danilo Medina convened by decree the Economic Social and Institutional Council (CES), government institutions, organizations of the civil society, personalities and experts, in order that they organize the space for the discussion and working out of the fine points of the National Pact for the Reform of the Electric Sector.

By means of decree 389 - 14, issued yesterday, the Executive appointed the ministers of the Presidency, of Economy, Planning, and Development and the Minister without portfolio, Antonio Isa Conde, so that they can coordinate, together with the chairman of the CES everything relating to the approval of the methodology and handling of the process, which should conclude within the next six months, starting from the inauguration of the event.

In a similar manner, the presidential order creates a committee to coordinate the participation of the government institutions in the process of the Pact, which will be composed of the Minister of the Presidency, who will be the chairman and coordinator, the ministers of Economy, Plan of vacation, and Development, and of Energy and Mining; the executive Vice President of the Dominican Corporation of State - owned Electricity Enterprises (CD EEE), the executive director of the National Energy Commission and the Superintendent of Electricity.

The decree also establishes the composition of a Technical Support Committee to design the methodology and the guidelines for the Electricity Act, as well as organize the logistics and resolve any need which could arise during the process.

For the discussions regarding the electricity pact 59 organize Asians and government institutions, 55 experts in diverse disciplines, representatives of international agencies as witnesses and seven directors of the print media were invited in order to eat your "the transparency of the event and the social oversight of the Of electric Pact."
