Danilo Medina calls for more action less talk by SICA
PLACENCIA, BELIZE. President Danilo Medina yesterday asked the XLIV Summit of the Central American System of Integration (SI CA) for more actions in order that the achievements of the integration can benefit the people, and he said that his presence in the conclave is an expression of his desire to push for concrete and effective measures.

"I am convinced that the SICA does not need more decorations; but rather it needs more action. We need to employ our political will in order to achieve a more efficient and more effective functioning of our institutionalism," proclaimed President Medina.

After establishing that the people ask for and deserve a lot more, the Dominican Chief of State recognized the advances that the SICA has experienced in some areas. "It is true that while we have achieved advances, and experienced success, our peoples are asking us and they deserve much more," he underlined.

He called for making an effort in order that the agreements and commitments that are acquired at the summits be carried effectively to their application, and he called for action in order to develop the initiatives.

He returned last night

After remaining several hours in Belize, Medina returned last night on a private flight to the San Isidro Air Base, where he was received by the top military chiefs. The President arrived at 7:12, in a jet with the tail number N502VJ, and when reporters asked his opinion regarding the reestablishment of relations between Cuba and the United States he only said: "excellent."
