The Reformists will choose a third of their candidates

Genao reported that the other two thirds would be left to form alliances

SANTO DOMINGO. The Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) is getting ready to elect in March one-third of its candidates, encluding its presidential candidate, and leaving the other positions to be negotiated with other sectors and organizations.

The Secretary-General of the PR SC, Ramon Rogelio Genao, said that before 10 March the party will have elected some 12 candidates for Senators, 50 candidates for deputy, 50 mayors and 50 directors of municipal districts and that in the majority they would be young persons, women and personalities of the civil society.

Regarding Senator Amable Aristy, and his possible departure from the PRSC, he revealed that they have not been able to contact him and he can't explain why the veteran legislator, with 8 consecutive periods in the National Congress would leave a party which has been his "shield" during his political career. He said that a departure by Aristy is not going to stop the advance of the PRSC.

"We have not been able to contact him personally, we have made efforts and in a direct manner we have not talked, but we have talked with assistents and with relatives, and it is very probable that this week we will meet," he said.
