Motorcyclists represent 62% of the Rehabilitation patients
SD. Of the 300,000 patients who are attended each year in the 29 branches of the Dominican Association for Rehabilitation (ADR) disseminated throughout the country, 62% are poly-trauma patients resulting from motorcycle traffic accidents.

"We have to point out that we receive a great number of patients hurt in motorcycle accidents. The country has become one of the (largest) producers of traffic accidents. We have a number that places us at the head of this list," declared the executive director of the entity, Arturo Perez Gaviño yesterday.

His statement came about in a press conference in which Gildan Dominican Republic delivered a donation of RD$1.3 million to the Rehabilitation branch located in the town of Guerra, in the province of Santo Domingo.

In this sense, he indicated that the money will be used for the construction of a building with better services for the patients.

Mary Perez de Marranzini, the founder and president of the ADR, called on the company to continue contributing to the development of institutions that help persons with disabilities and few resources.
