District Attorney of the National District closes plastic surgery center

SD. The District Attorney of the National District closed on Tuesday afternoon the Center of Plastic Surgery and Specialties of Santo Domingo, located across the street from the Presidential Palace, after a woman from the United States died there last Saturday.

The center itself confirmed the death of the woman, whose personal data were not provided to the press. The body of the woman was taken to Forensic Pathology for an autopsy.

The director of the clinic Ivanhoe Baez Conmme, called the closure arbitrary, and he said that the authorities did not notify him of the measure, which put at risk the patients who at that moment, at 5:30 p.m., where receiving attention. The clinic is located in front of the Presidential Palace, on the Manuel Maria Castillo St., #30, in the Gazcue sector.

Last Sunday, the authorities also closed, for the second time, the Institute for Weight Loss, Body Aesthetics, and Gynecology (IDEAMEC), in Santiago, after the deaths of two women in less than a week, while another young girl is in intensive care.

At IDEAMEC they have reported the death of for women after different aesthetical surgical procedures.
