The National Police will soon carry out promotions

SANTO DOMINGO. The Chief of the National Police, Major General Manuel Castro Castillo, revealed yesterday that more than 10,000 police agents comply with the requirements to be promoted in rank in the next few days.

"These have already been worked on (the promotions). We expect that the promotions will be estensive, more than 10,000 members of the National Police qualify for promotion. They have four years in service and in rank and more. Regrettably we cannot promote more than 10,000. We are trying to make the promotion process as large as possible, in order to benefit the greatest number of members of the National Police," he noted after placing a floral wreath to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the Police.

The Major General explained that the police agents that qualify for promotion, have to pass the qualifying examination.

"We are doing everything possible in order for this to be a large promotion, such as the members of the National Police who work day and night in order to guarantee public safety deserve," he said.

They failed the exam

Castro Castillo reported that of 5000 police agents who took the qualifying exam in order to opt for a promotion in rank, nearly 4000 failed to approve the qualification examination.
