An elderly woman dies suffocated by tear gas in San Francisco de Macoris
SFM. A 92-year-old woman became the second victim of the protests which were held in San Francisco de Macoris and in other localities of the Cibao, when she died from suffocation caused by the tear gas launched by police against a group of demonstrators in the Jobo Bonito sector.

Lawyer Juan José Antigua, a nephew of the old woman, reported that his and was taken to the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, but they could do nothing because she was already deceased.

"In a rude manner the police launch teargas which caused many persons of the sector to be momentarily asphyxiated," Antigua explained.

Before this incident, during the morning, cameramen Domingo Diaz Matos, from Telemicro, in Santiago but who was covering the incidence of the strike in San Francisco, was wounded by a gunshot to his left gluteus. He was attended and released in the public hospital in San Francisco de Macoris.

On Tuesday night, Police private Anderson Guzman, 22 was killed by a gunshot to the head while he was facing demonstrators on the Hermanas Mirabal Avenue, at the corner of Sanchez Street in the city of Salcedo.
