SD. After a march from Independence Park to the Presidential Palace, the sugarcane workers received the news that the government would give pensions to 2.280 of them shortly.

Regarding this issue, Vice-President Rafael Alburquerque said that the government would disburse RD$10 million per month for these pensions.

At the same time, Jesus Nuñez, the spokesman for the group, said that he was satisfied and that they told him that they are only waiting for President Leonel Fernandez to sign the decree which covers the pensions.
