Tomorrow the report on Loma Miranda will be released

SANTO DOMINGO. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) finished the evaluation of the environmental impact study submitted by the Falcondo nickel mining company as part of their efforts to receive the environmental authorization from authorities for the possible mining exploitation of Loma Miranda.

After four months of research and analysis, both of the documentation as well as in the field, the team of international experts from the UNDP has concluded the evaluation process of the environmental impact on Loma Miranda.

The results of this evaluation will be presented next Thursday (tomorrow), 23 May. Just as they had agreed to with the government, the results will be made public and will be available for everyone in the Dominican society that is interested in this case.

The presentation will take place at the United Nations House (at Anacaona #9, Mirador del Sur) starting at 10:oo o; clock in the morning. Persons interested in attending the presentation of the results should register by calling (809) 537 0909 ext 234)

In a similar manner, there will be a live transmission of the event over the Internet. The internet address of the transmission will be published at the start of the even on the Facebook page of the UNDP (www.facebook.com/PNUDRD) and their Twitter account (@PNUDRD).
