CDEEE announces entry of three units to system
The entity also put two hydroelectric facilities into operation and apologized to customers
SD. The Dominican Corporation of State-owned Electricity Enterprises (CDEEE) reported yesterday that in order to lessen the impact of the shutdown of some generators, they ordered Haina IV, San Lorenzo, Tavera Hydro, Moncion Hydro, and the barge Estrella del Mar II to go on-line.
The CDEEE apologized to the people in the face of a series of blackouts caused by the interruption of service at Itabo I until 7 April, San Felipe for 21 days and Haina Turbogas, all of which caused blackouts in different parts of the country. This was further complicated when a transmission tower collapsed because parts of the structure had been stolen. A person has been arrested and arraigned on charges.
The CDEEE reported that they are working on the tower which collapsed in La Victoria and cited other interruptions of service which were because of work being done by EdeSur in the construction and repair of their network.
