Police salaries up 10%

The National Police have not said this officially. They expected a bigger pay raise

Although it has not been officially released, perhaps due to the pyrrhic nature of the amount, the National Police applied last January a pay raise of 10% in the salaries of its members, which means an increase of RD$35,542,910 in the budget for paying the 32,545 members, among them some 1,723 assimilated officers and men.

According with the distribution of salaries by rank, published by the Office of the Salary Section of the Police on its webpage and signed by Lieutenant Colonel Marino Alcantara Pinales, the director of the department, on the payroll, the National Police invested last December the sum of RD$248,319,212.80, which was increased to RD$285,772,122.00 after the application of the pay raise.

The report mentioned indicates that the Chief of Police, Major General Jose Armando Polanco Gomez, collected until last December, RD$69,591 and beginning in January, as a result of the increase, he received RD$74,450, an increase of RD$5,759.

In descending order, a brigadier general, deputy chief of Police, at the end of last year, had a salary of RD$52,571 and now receives RD$57,828, for an increase of RD$5.257.

Salaries by ranks

The National Police invests each month RD$289,130 in the payment of the salaries of four major generals and a brigadier general with salaries of RD$57,828.

For a brevet major general and 35 brigadier generals which receive a salary of RD$34,720, the state spends RD$1,249,920.

In addition, for the pay of 348 colonels, which earn a salary of RD$21,699, the National Police spend RD$7,551,252, In the meantime, on 434 lieutenant colonels, with salaried of RD$20,618, they spend RD$8,948,212.

Likewise, for 822 majors with monthly salaries of RD$17.362, they spend RD$14,271, 564 of the monthly payroll of the National Police.
