Central Romana delivers largest bonus ever
LA ROMANA. The Central Romana Corporation handed its workers and employees more than RD$700 million pesos in bonus money which corresponds to the 2011-2012 harvest.

This is the most money that the company has ever delivered for bonuses in all of its history.

The amount, which was more than RD$70 million more than the amount handed out last year, went to the personnel that work in the factory part of the sugar mill as well as the field workers in the farm area.

The economic incentive is part of the benefits which Central Romana offer to its employees, including programs of health coverage, education, housing and foods for the workers and their families as part of their plan for corporate social responsibility.

The company has built schools for the children of their workers in the farming areas, and within their housing program they have build and delivered more than 1,500 houses for their employees in the urban area. In addition, Central Romana maintains and develops an broad program of health, which was strengthened with the construction of the new and modern Medical Center, and the medical sub-station in the farming areas, supported by the Mobile Medical Units that offer free services on a daily basis.

The company finished the harvest and they had produces 430,627 short tons of sugar, of which 183,488 was refined sugar.
