District Attorney of National District will decide on complaint against Leonel
Guillermo Moreno's lawyer says his client will appear at the DA's office

SANTO DOMINGO. The District Attorney of the National District, Yeni Berenice Reynoso, is getting ready to examine which way the complaint presented by the president of Alianza Pais, Guillermo Moreno against the former President Leonel Fernandez will take.
The official asked Moreno to appear in person today at 2:00 p.m. so that he can explain the basis of his action against the president of the PLD.
In the meantime, the defensive team for Fernandez said that they will be present at the process, to which the former President will not attend because the invitation was only extended to his lawyers.
Lawyer Miguel Valerio Jiminian said that Fernandez does not have to be present at the process because he is not a defendant.
"President Fernandez is not going to attend because he his presence has not been requested and so far the District Attorney of the National District has not established a position regarding the admissibility or not of the complaint, so therefore he does not have to be considered as a defendant, according to the Penal Process Code."
He commented that today they will simply debate the arguments of the plaintiffs and defendant, in order to give orality to the penal process. The District Attorney will listen to each of the parties in order to determine the validity of the action.
For his part, the lawyer for Guillermo Moreno, Cristobal Rodriguez, said that the political leader would appear to the invitation by the District Attorney.
"We are prepared, we have been in permanent session, we are going to appear on time tomorrow in order to accompany Guillermo Moreno." He stated that District Attorney Reynoso asked for the personal appearance of Guillermo Moreno.
