Attorney General says he has proofs against Wesolowski

The scandal broke out after the firing of the Nuncio

SANTO DOMINGO. The Attorney General of the Republic has collected sufficient proof to demonstrate the misconduct of the former Papal Nuncio, Jozef Wesolowski, which in case he cannot be extradicted due to the nature of his functions and position, he is willing to present to the Vatican.

The warning was made by the Deputy Attorney General and chief of the investigation into the case of pederasty attributed to the former diplomat, Bolivar Sanchez.

He said that these proofs go beyond all reasonable doubt that the accusations against the Nuncio are true.

He commented that minors interviewed stated that Wesolowski induced them to engage in oral sex.

Likewise, a witness indicated that he saw on the laptop that belonged to the former Nuncio in the Nunciature full of pornographic pictures and videos.

The minors that have been interviewed said that he filmed them with a cell phone while they masturbated, images that have been seen on the former Nuncio's laptop.

Sanchez revealed that when the authorities of the Catholic Church presented their proof to the Vatican, Dominicans knew nothing about these actions. He said that as soon as the Attorney General of the Republic took over the investigations, he received the full cooperation of the Catholic Church in order for the incidents to be cleared up.

"There are persons being interrogated whose names have been facilitated by the Church, with information that they obtained in the previous investigations."

The man who is also the Inspector General of the Justice Department said that one of the most important elements for proving the adventures of the former Nuncio was provided by the authorities of the Catholic Church, "which means that there has been an attitude of full cooperation in order to clear up the shameful events that include some of its members."

Several minors have been interviewed in relation to the case. Likewise, they have given explanations about the situation lived by the former representative of the Pope.
