Man and Woman of 2014 Award to be presented today

SANTO DOMINGO. The Diario Libre will present tonight during a gala dinner, the awards for the Man and Woman of the Year 2014. Receiving the awards will be the promoter of small hydroelectric plants in isolated communities, Alberto Sanchez, and Gianni Paulino, the president of the "Wrinkled Hands" Foundation (Manos Arrugadas).
During the event, which will be held in the Hotel El Embajador, at 8:00 p.m., they will also deliver trophies to the other finalists for the award.
At the same time, President Danilo Medina sent nice letters of congratulations to the winners of the award which is organized by this newspaper.
In his letters to Paulino and Sanchez, the President indicated that he takes great pleasure in their awards because this prize constitutes therecognition of the efforts in favor of the elderly and of the construction of small hydroelectric generators, respectively.
The Chief of State extended his congratulations to the families of both award winners in this year's version of the Man and the Woman of the Year, as well as to all the people that took part together with them in the beautiful work that they carry out.
The other finalists for the award were Pedro Martinez, Oscar Villanueva, Victor Atallah, Juan Oviedo, Olga Altman, Maria Magdalena Rosario, Maria Isabel Serulle, and Rosalia Carvajal.
