SD. Of the first meeting of the commission of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) that will prepare a draft of the proposal for convening the National Assembly to reform the Constitution, there is only a confirmation that the meeting was held, but under all the secrecy possible.

The meeting set for 4:00 in the afternoon yesterday became a game of "cat and mouse," when the reporters appeared at the National House of the PLD, the place where the meeting was convened by Reinaldo Pared Perez, who coordinates the commission.

The PLD director of communications, Hector Olivo, reported that it would not be held there.

"At midmorning, the Secretary-General received a call that conditions did not exist for holding it here and they changed places. We have not been told where it will be held, and the commissioners were asked that the name of the place be withheld," he stated.

Given the secrecy, several reporters visited the Presidential House of the PLD on Doctor Piñeiro Street in the University Zone, where a watchman assured them that there was no meeting. This was confirmed by the absence of any activity at that place.

Another group of reporters went to Benito Moncion Street in Gascue, where the political offices of the PLD President, Leonel Fernandez are located. At close to 6:00 in the afternoon deputies Ruben Maldonado and Henry Moran arrived, and they said that no meeting would be held there.

Confirmation without details

Later, in an exchange with several reporters on Twitter, Pared Perez that yesterday they were not going to offer any information, after confirming that the meeting was held.

"The commission is working. Don't worry. Everyone attended. We will talk to you soon," he said through his account @ReinaldoPared. Then he added, because of the insistance for details: "This won't happen today. We're sorry."

In his last message yesterday on the social network, he wrote: "Lots of caution. Lots of good sense. But above all, lots of PATIENCE."

The commission also includes Abel Martinez and Cristina Lizardo, the heads of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate. In addition, Lidio Cadet and deputies Radhames Camacho and Miriam Cabral, and the former Vice President of the Republic, Rafael Alburquerque, who said yesterday that he found out in the press that he was a member of the commission, also took part in the meeting.
