Attorney General is processing extradition of lawyer's killer

Rodriguez was arrested in the vicinity of his home

SD. The Attorney General of the Republic is processing the extradition to the Dominican Republic of Ambiorix Nepomuceno Rodriguez, arrested yesterday in Burgos, a Spanish city located in the North of the Iberian Peninsula, who is accused of murdering lawyer Paola Margaret Languasco Jimenez.

The information was offered by the Attorney General Francisco Dominguez Brito, who revealed that the defendant of Spanish nationality was detained in the morning. "The process that follows now will be the formal request of extradition."

The official indicated that for his capture, an arrest warrant was requested through Interpol together with the international collaboration between Spain and the Dominican Republic.

He stressed the collaboration of the Spanish authorities, especially the Spanish ambassador in the Dominican Republic, who manifested his personal concern for the situation.

Dominguez Brito called the crime of which Nepomuceno Rodriguez is accused "horrendous", since the accused allegedly killed the lawyer in his residence in Santiago and contracted two men to move her body to a sewer drain, where it was buried.

He insisted that there is a very clear description that reveals that the victim was submitted to blows with a fist or a blunt object and that there was a struggle, which they deduced from the fracture of one of the arms, apparently in an attempt to bend it, finishing the crime with several shots.

He said that the arrest was achieved through the international judicial cooperation, and the arrest was communicated by the diplomat.

Under preventive custody for the murder are Cristino Antonio Marmol Nuñez and Alejandro Pichardo Marte (Colita). The latter was deported from the United States for drug trafficking and belonged to the Latin Kings gang.

Both men supposedly admitted that they received the sum of RD$2000 from Nepomuceno Rodriguez to throw the body of the lawyer into a sewer, wrapped up in plastic bags, in the Jardines del Norte residential area, in Santiago where the young woman was killed with four shots.

At the same time the father of the murdered lawyer, Leopoldo Languasco, asked the chief of the National Police and the Attorney General of the Republic to guarantee the physical integrity of Nepomuceno Rodriguez, since he fears that he could be eliminated in order that he does not divulge the names of the police and judicial officials who let him go free, in order to later escape and go to Spain.

The story

Nepomuceno has another case file open for homicide in San Francisco de Macoris. The lawyer left her house in Puerto Plata, on Sunday, 5 April, going to Santiago to join a group of friends, on a taxi that Ambiorix Nepomuceno Rodriguez was going to pay for. Her body was found 18 days later in a drainpipe in Santiago.
