A high level trough will cause dispersed showers and thunder storms

SANTO DOMINGO. A tropical wave located yesterday to the east of Puerto Rico and a high level trough will affect the occurrence of dispersed rain showers, as well as thunder and lightning, during the first days of the week in different areas of the country.

Likewise, temperatures will remain warm with the maximum of between 31°C and 32°C, according to the general report from the National Meteorological Office (Onamet). The meteorological forecast says that the tropical wave will move rapidly towards the West, while it found the low pressure trough to the Northwest. The southeast winds will contribute humidity.

These conditions favor dispersed rain showers and thunder and lightning, on the provinces of San Juan, Elias Piña, Dajabon, Santiago Rodriguez, Valverde, Montecristi, Santiago, Barahona, Azua, San Jose de Ocoa, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, sedges Ramirez, Duarte, Monsignor Nouel and La Vega.

For today they report that there will be possible rain showers and wind gusts in the frontier area with increasing cloud cover and dispersed showers and electrical storms.

For tomorrow they expect a partly cloudy to cloudy on occasions with showers, electrical storms and isolated gusts of wind in the Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast, The Central Mountains and the frontier area.

Recommendations

Given the increase in temperatures, dermatologist Maritza Luz recommends to look for shady areas while walking, avoid the sun between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., to use hats, sunscreen, light close and sunscreens in the cars, houses and offices. She explains that overexposure causes sunburn and dehydration.
