A plane full of drugs left the DR for Honduras

The media in Honduras indicate that the plane carried between 1.500 and 2,000 kg. of cocaine

CATACAMAS, Honduras. Authorities reported yesterday that a plane loaded with drugs that landed in the Honduran community of Catacamas, left the Dominican Republic last 17 May.

The information published in several newspapers and other media of Honduras said that the white airplane, tail number N308RH, a Beechcraft King Air Model 200, left Puerto Plata for the Josefa Camejo Airport in Venezuela, according to its flight plan.

Nonetheless, the plane never arrived at the original destination, and it is presumed that it landed in the Venezuelan jungle where it picked up a load of between 1,500 and 2,000 kg. of cocaine, that were then taken to Honduras.

The plane landed on an airstrip that had been closed for some time. Investigations revealed that the drug traffickers tried to take off again but the wheels of the aircraft got stuck and they decided to abandon the plane.
