SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Telephone Company (CODETEL) has invested, from 2000 until now, a total of US$2.1 billion in its expansion and modernization of networks and equipment and in technological innovations.

The investment, the largest in the sector in the country, allows them to stay in the lead in the telecommunications sector and strengthen its national and international prestige as well as the confidence of the population.

The improvement and the expansion of the operations of Claro-Codetel, headed by Oscar Peña, is put into evidence in one of the latest studied that the company carried out in which it shows that it has the best network in the country for mobile phones.

Peña points out that Codetel is the pioneer and the only company with a 3.5G mobile communication network in the Dominican Republic,which will permit it to offer a national service of quality and coverage. The administration of the company reaffirmed its commitment to keep the highest standards of quality.
