Denzel vacations in Cap Cana

The famous actor and director, Denzel Washington, who was in country spending his Christmas vacationand celebrating his 54th birthday, praised the Dominican Republic as “a charming country.”
The many-time nominated and two-time Oscar winner, a leading contender to portray Barack Obama on the screen, shared villa number 5 of Villa Caleton, a part of the Cap Cana complex with a small group of friends after arriving at Punta Cana on a private flight.
The actor, who was very receptive and friendly with his hosts and those who had access to see him, shared his vacation with Dominican actress Dania Ramirez from the television series “Heroes”, seen on the NBC Network and the Minister of Tourism from the Turks & Caicos, Michael Misick.
Washington, a first class actor was impressed with the Cap Cana project that he toured in a golf cart.
The lead actor in “American Gangster” and other successful pictures enjoyed a delicious sancocho with his hosts and some close friends that preferred to remain anonymous. This was the first time that the actor had visited the country and he was scheduled to leave for Turks & Caicos yesterday.
The opportunity to celebrate his 54th birthday was not a casual occurrence, since DL learned that the trip had been prepared from the United States.
The actor presented an agreeable appearance with a do rag on his head as he enjoyed the food and a good dip in the ocean.
The short stay was an opportunity for some photographs, some of which Diario Libre was given access to, and one of which shows Washington together with Michael Misick and Lily Lluberes, the wife of Rafael Fernandez de Castro the owner of a Cap Cana art gallery and a founding member of the Cap Cana project, who was the organizer of the event. Densel Washington, an Oscar winner for roles in “Training Day” and “Glory”, was born on 28 December 1954 in Mount Vernon, New York, the son of a Pentecostal minister and a hairdresser.
When he was young his parents prohibited him from watching movies but when they separated, Washington rebelled and went through a violent stage.
In order to calm down his behavior, his mother sent him and his sister to a boarding school and later to Fordham University where he graduated with a degree in Journalism. A summer camp gave Washington his first taste of acting.
