Duarte's birthday to be commemorated in diverse acts
The acts include masses, celebrations, recognitions and military parades

SD. President Danilo Medina will head today the principle official acts celebrating the 202nd anniversary of the birth of the Founding Father of the Dominican Republic, Juan Pablo Duarte.
At 10:00 a.m. Medina will attend a Te Deum Mass at the Santa Anna Cathedral in San Francisco de Macoris, which will also be attended by officials of the administration and provincial and municipal authorities.
Later, at 11:00 a.m. he will preside over a military and civilian parade on 27 of February Street in front of the Duarte Park in San Francisco de Macoris.
In the meantime, in the capital, Nicolas de Jesus Cardinal Lopez Rodriguez will offer a Te Deum mass at the Cathedral of Santo Domingo, at 9:00 a.m., supported by the Duarte Institute, and at 10:00 a.m. a parade will start from the door of the Duarte house, located on Isabel La Catolica, in the Colonial City, and will go to the Altar of the Fatherland. Santiago Governor's office
In other acts, the Governor of Santiago invited the public to attend the Flag Raising at 8:00 a.m., and Te Deum Mass in the Metropolitan Cathedral a half an hour later.
Immediately after mass is over there will be the traditional parade from the Governor's office to the statue of the Founding Father Juan Pablo Duarte located next to City Hall.
Juntapo and a protest mass
The Popular Board of Barrio and Community Organizations (Juntapo) invited people to a protest mass at 6:00 in the afternoon in the Santa Barbara parish in the Colonial City in order to demand that the authorities repair the church where the Founding Father of the Nation was baptized.
Good practices
The Dominican Federation of Municipal Districts (Fedodim), will award today the Juan Pablo Duarte Prize for good municipal practices, during an act in the Pedro Henriquez Ureña National Library, at 5:00 p.m.
In Moca
The Senatorial Office of Espaillat will present the National Flag of Free Schools starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Don Bosco Theater in Moca.
