Gomez Mazara requests the commission to annul the PRD convention
SANTO DOMINGO. Without hiding his understanding of a decision that will go against him, Guido Gomez Mazara deposited yesterday the documents of his request for the annulment of the XXX Ordinary Conventions of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), held last Sunday and whose results ratified as party president Miguel Vargas Maldonado.

The documents were received by the secretary of acts of the National Organizing Commission, Leudy Peralta, together with the notaries Odalis Ferreras and Jesus Maria Hernandez.

Gomez Mazara was accompanied by Eligio Jaquez, Tomas Hernandez Alberto, Wellington Arnaud, Fausto Liz, Ramon Emilio Concepcion and his mother, Carmen Mazara. Acting as his notary was Gejoel Jimenez.

"All we want to request from you, since we are aware of the results beforehand, is that you speed up your decision because the fundamental scenario will be the Superior Electoral Tribunal," he said as he delivered the documentation.

Differences on annulment

A group of PRD leaders rejected the petition to annul the internal elections. Among these figures were city councilmen Ceasr Cabrera and Alejandro Baron, the past president and secretary general of the PRD Committee in the National District, respectively, as well as the presidents-elects of mass fronts Mary Sanchez, of Fedomusde, Joel Diaz, JRD,; Hugo Bautista, Medicos; Julio de Peña, professionals; Jose Jaquez, Farming; Nelson Espinal, Accountants; Nelson Vasquez, Mipymes;, Ramon Ramirez, Barrios and Communities; Onolia Colon, the Old Guard; esar Soto, Unions; and Jorge Ramirez, sports.

Leaders Eligio Jaquez, and Deligne Ascencion backed the request for annulment writted by Alfredo Pacheco, Orlando Jorge Mera, Neney Cabrera and Eduardo Sanz.
