Government exonerates farmers from some taxes

SANTO DOMINGO. The General Directorate for Internal Taxes (DGII) announced the extension for all of fiscal 2012 of the measures pertaining to the exonerations from payment of the anticipated tax payment on Income Tax, from the payment of the Tax on Assets and from the Retention of Income Tax on payments made by the State.

The measure is contained in the General Norm 01-2012 issued by the DGII and goes into force starting today, Tuesday 21 February.

The tax exemption which favors the farm sector began in 2008 in order to support the farm and cattle producers that suffered huge losses from the effects of tropical storms Noel and Olga.
