Horrific tale of how they murdered Vilma Martinez
Yesterday agents found what they think is the head of the young woman

SANTO DOMINGO.- The sisters Crismeri and Erika Guerrero told investigators that they asphyxiated the businesswoman from Higuey, Vilma Teresa Martinez, the same day that she disappeared and that later they threw her body in some bushes beside the highway between El Seibo and Miches.
Both killers told how they convinced their victim that there was a witch in the area that was going to take her money and that she should remain kneeling for an hour all tied up before beginning a session that would distance the bad spirits.
In this situation, both sisters placed a plastic bag over her head and suffocated her until she died.
Yesterday the Police arrested Ramos Sabino and Ramon Baez, the latter is the husband of Erica, and who was the person that cut off her head.
After committing the deed, they put the body of the young businesswoman in an SUV and then they tossed it into the bushes and then burned it so that it would not smell.
They said that the motive of the crime was to obtain US$80,000 that the businesswoman supposedly possessed. As if this were a horror film, Crismeri-who has three arrests for different crimes-told how two day s later they contracted Ramon to cut off her head so that the body would not be recognized once it was found.
The first clue that took the authorities to arrest Crismeri and her sister was when they found her in possession of the victim's credit card with which she had spent RD$30,000 at a supermarket in La Romana.
The investigators established that Crismeri made several phone calls from Vilma's cell phone, calls that were placed when they were on the road to where they left the body of the victim.
Until now both women have given different versions of the story regarding the motive. One of them said that a man would pay them RD$2.0 million if they took him Vilma's head, but this has not been established by the Police.
The investigators are engaged in finding out what person or persons called the family of the victim to ask for a RD$2.5 million ransom for her supposed rescue, with the intention of diverting the police investigation.
Yesterday the Police found the head of the woman less than 100 yards from where 24 hours before they had found her body.
