Nuria reports harassment against alleged informants

SD. The journalist, Nuria Piera reported that state intelligence agencies searched residences and businesses of some persons in search of materials that she used in basing her story in which she accuses the companies of Senator Felix Bautista of having delivered more than RD$100,000,000 to the President of Haiti, Michel Martelly.
She said that she received the worrisome calls from persons which had their houses and other properties searched.
In a note sent to Diario Libre, Piera asked that injustices not be committed in search of the source which facilitated the documents that she presented as proof of the bank accounts and payments made by the legislator of the province of San Juan de la Maguana to the chief of State of Haiti.
"It is important not to create uneasiness in some families that are being investigated by the authorities in order to find the person that offered the reports and the account numbers of the companies that are tied to Senator Felix Bautista," said the journalist.
She adds that if the information which she presented on the television program, according to the persons implicated does not have any validity, she does not understand the reason why they are carrying out searches to find the source.
The program "Nuria-Journalistic Investigation" presented last Saturday a report in which Piera explains that she had in her possession a dozen pages of reports of companies tied to Bautista.
