Penn & Schoen: 76% believe DM can be reelected
SANTO DOMINGO. According to the results of the most recent surveys by the firm Penn, Schoen & Berland, some 76% of voters think that President Danilo Medina could reelected in the next elections; 23% were in disagreement and 1% did not know or did not respond.
In a like manner, the poll showed that three of every four voters and nine of every 10 among the members of the PLD or PLD sympathizers say that the President could try once again for the Presidency in 2016 in spite of the Constitutional prohibition.
In the meantime, Medina counts on the support of three of each four voters needed in order to change the Constitution and he could be a candidate in the 2016 elections.
If he were candidate to the Presidency, he would win with 68% of the votes. Seven of every 10 persons say they would vote for him in 2016, which means that he would win in the first round of voting.
Methodology
The national survey was carried out with a sample of 1049 Dominicans, between 4 and 8 March of this year. This study only focused on voters who frequently took part in the elections. The margin of error is +/- 3.02%.
