Police capture gang that killed taxi drivers
A 15 year old girl said she took part in stabbing of victims

SD. The Chief of Police called the case "hair-raising or bloodcurdling". It involves minors that were arrested as part of a gang that killed at least 7 taxi drivers in East Santo Domingo in order to robe them of money and other belongings.
Major General Rafael Guillermo Guzman Fermin expressed concern of the occurrence of this type of organized crime by minors, among which were two young girls, 15 and 17.
The investigations showed that a 15 year old member of the gang took an active part in the stabbing of the victims and the stealing of their money and other effects.
The reports of the investigators show that the group killed in series and selected their victims. Meanwhile, Guzman Fermin identified the adults that were arrested as Joel de la Rosa, 18, and Jesus Reyes Gonzalez,20, who were accompanied by two young men and the two young girls as they got into taxis whose drivers were then the victims of assaults, robberies and murders.
The Police recovered a revolver, knives and other tools used by the gang in their criminal activities. Major General Guzman Fermin reported that among the victims was Adeliz Calderon Gonzalez, whose body was found yesterday in an empty lot in the Brisas del Este sector, tied hands and feet and showing many heavy blows with blunt objects.
Another of the victims is Anito Beltran, shot and killed last 14 January in the Los Molinas dela Charles residences; so was Estanislao Cayetano Pascual, who suffered the same kind of wounds on 25 December 2009. The body of Cayetano Pascual was found inside a red Toyota, license plate A-384138, that was found at Kilometer 8 ½ of the Mella Highway in the sector of Cancino Viejo.
Another taxi driver murdered by the persons under arrest was Jhonatan Bello D'Oleo, who was asphyxiated and burned with acid on 2 April 2010, and his body thrown into a lot located on the Jardin del Este at the corner of Charles de Gaulle in the Respaldo Los Tres Ojos sector.
They also killed the taxi driver Nelson Tavarez Hernandez, whose body was found last 27 March in the Los Frailes Secundo section, with the hands and feet tied, with stab wounds and blunt force traumas.
