President inaugurates open tunnel on 27 February and Ortega y Gasset
The cost of the project at that intersection is over US$27 million

SD. The Ministry of Public Works inaugurated yesterday the open tunnel and the complex of other structures built by the government at the intersection of 27 de Febrero and Ortega Y Gasset.
The works were opened for use yesterday during the act headed by President Leonel Fernandez. The series of projects consists of three roadway solutions to traffic: a tunnel or a left turn without interruption of traffic from Ortega y Gasset to 27 de Febrero going North to East, a pedestrian bridge and a overpass that goes from 27 de Febrero to Ortega y Gasset.
This is the fifth component of the Duarte Corridor I that has been opened for service and that is being built with an investment of US$204, 461,307. It is being built by the Duarte Corridor Consortium, made up of companies such as Odebrecht, Ingeneria y Construcciones, S.A., and Ingeneria Estrella, S.A. and with the supervision of Tecnoamerica, S.A.
The central speech was given by the Minister of Public Works, Victor Diaz Rua. The welcome was given by the mayor of the National District, Roberto Salcedo and the businessman Jose Luis Corripio, gave the words of appreciation. The projects were blessed by Father Alejandro Cabrera.
