So far this year the Police have reported 62 suicides

SD. The Police have reported that in the first two months of the year a total of 62 persons have committed suicide, the majority of them debt-ridden, another part for reasons of personal relationships, or because they have committed some crime that then produced remorse and shame from society.
This number has surpassed that from the beginning of 2011 when there were 43 suicides reported.
The daily reports from the Police show that 20 of these suicides were men who did this after killing their wives or partners.
Yesterday the Police reported the suicides of a 16 year old minor, Martha Raquel German Perez, the nurse Ramona Baez Liberato,48, and that of Aramis del Rosario, 24 in events that happened in San Cristobal, Santiago Rodriguez and San Pedro de Macoris, respectively.
Last Monday the suicides of Tomas Guzman Sanchez (El Amigo), 87 and Ms. Mercedes Arisleida Araujo Caminero, 43. They lived in Montecristi and San Cristobal. The first had tried to commit suicide on other occasions and the second person suffered from mental problems.
During last weekend, which is to say between Friday and Sunday, ten persons committed suicide, among them was Roberto Antonio Cabrera Dionicio, 33, who hung himself after stabbing and killing his woman in an event in San Cristobal.
In a like manner the suicides of Alberto del Rosario, hung; Marina de Soto, poisoned, (both left notes telling how they owed money and could not pay), Alejandro Alfredo, Mario Santos Rosado, Alfonso Matias, Maritza Gonzalez and Maximo Antonio Rodriguez, with the first three shooting themselves in the head and the other two hanging themselves because of economic problems.
Also, the Police reported the suicides of the young Haitian woman, Deleine Desroses, 21; Victor Junior Tineo Polanco (Jefry), 18; Priamo Moncion (Belito), 31; Ramon Antonio Camacho Salcedo, 28; and Jose Ramon Santana Reyes (Momon), 54. In the meantime Isidro Montero Diaz died from the injuries incurred when he fell out of a mango tree.
It was also reported that the Haitian Josaphat Nelsy, 26, and the Dominican Fernando Moronta Abreu, 67, committed suicide by hanging in separate events which occurred in the sectors of Los Pedritos and Manganagua in the capital.
Likewise, the death by suicide of Alfredo Javier Gonzalez, Marino Tavarez Soriano, Rafael Sosa Germosen and Antonio Ogando Alvarado all of whom left notes before they committed the act, saying that "now they could not carry the load of debts that they had."
In a similar manner, the Police reported the deaths of César Peralta Soto, Mateo Antonio Cabrera, Marino Del Monte Robles, Antonio González, Martha de Mateo, Alfida Antonia Antonio, Federico Campos, María Rodríguez Díaz, Miriam Angomás, Mercedes Montes de Oca, Mariza Soriano, Wilfredo Santana Santana, Amancio Antonio Soto, Antonio Peralta, Juana Acevedo y Germania Santana, Georgina Agramonte, Henry de la Mota, Arcadio Amancio and Roque Sánchez.

The Psychiatrist Dr. Cesar Mella, said that the great triggering phantom for suicide are nervous depressions, the disturbances of the mood, that take the idea of suicide to people and the ideas of committing the deed. He said that it is important that the population be on guard to prevent and educate, first that these events are not sensationalized and that the media are cautious with this aspect. He explained that another factor that moves people to suicide is the use of drugs and alcohol among other things.
