Families of North Barquita are counted
There were 1.180 families registered that live under vulnerable conditions
NORTH SANTO DOMINGO. "We cannot allow someone who lives in an area of high risk not to be counted." This statement is by the manager of the area of Registration and Analysis of Information of the integrated project "La Nueva Barquita", Guillermo Milan, who told Diario Libre that the census of the families that live in vulnerable conditions has ended in the sector of La Barquita in Los Mina.
According to Milan, the validation seeks to identify "with details" the residents that live in the area at risk of the sector, in order to clean up the lists, and therefore avoid that someone who does not belong to the barrio forms a part in the project and mixes in with the families that could be missing.
"The businesses have already been counted. They counted a total of 26 businesses and 37 businesses that were thought to be inside houses," the person charged with the Census area for the housing project.
He said that he expects that all of the family affected by the flooding of the Ozama River have been counted.
Once all the data is validated, he stressed that they will carry out profile reports, whose objective is to relocate families in the best of possible situations.
It will be remembered that "The New Barquita" is going up in the La Javilla sector of Sabana Perdida, in the municipality of North Santo Domingo.
The project has a cost of over RD$4.0 billion and was ordered by President Danilo Medina in one of his first surprise visits to the different communities.
