SANTO DOMINGO. With a colorful ceremony in which carnival troupes and traditional groups found in the Dominican carnivals, the 54th version of the Caribbean Series got off to its start, with the victories of Puerto Rico over Venezuela (3-1) and the Dominican Republic over Mexico (2-1).
