Only 2000 domestics have registered in Senasa
Some 48,000 are missing and this is the last weekend of the process; there are no reports of an extension
SANTO DOMINGO. This weekend the deadline of affiliation to the Subsidized Regime of the National Health Insurance (Senasa) expires for domestic workers and their direct dependence and only 2000 of the 50,000 which is the goal, have formalized their inscription.
Of this number, 77% are from Greater Santo Domingo and Santiago.
For the same as the authorities it is important that all the domestic employees be able to request their affiliation and can have an insurance which guarantees their rights to a health service that is inclusive and of quality.
The request for affiliation can be carried out in all the offices of Senasa at the national level this Saturday, 6 June and Sunday, 7 June between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and in the kiosks of affiliation installed in the stores of La Sirena on Churchill in Santo Domingo, El Embrujo in Santiago, as well as in the stores in Moca, Higüey and Bani, starting this Friday until Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m..
The applicants should present copies of their cédula together with that of their husband, the marriage certificate or certificate of reunion, copies of the birth certificates of their children and stepchildren who are minors who live in the home, as well as on the cédula and certification of education of adult children who are over 18.
They also need a letter from their employer which indicates that they are carrying out domestic work or a certification of their registration in the Inter-institutional Committee of Women Workers (CIMTRA).
