Owner of aesthetic clinic is arrested in Santiago

SANTIAGO. The doctor who is the owner of the aesthetic clinic where in the last few weeks two women have died after undergoing selective surgeries is under arrest by the District Attorney.

This is Doctor Oscar Polanco, the owner of the Slimming , Aesthetics and Gynecology Institute (IDEAMEC) who went to the office of the interim District Attorney, Aura Luz Garcia, where he was arrested.

Doctor Polanco is defended by lawyer Vicente Luna, but he has other lawyers, among them Aulio Collado Anico, who is also a doctor.

It was reported that soon measures of coercion will be heard because of the deaths of the women who were submitted to operations in his clinic.

Protests

Yesterday, relatives of Sara de los Angeles Martinez, the most recent victim related with the clinic in question, held a vigil in front of the place where the clinic operated on the Republic of Argentina Ave., #18.

During the protest, Sara's parents, Milagros Rodriguez and Pedro Enduren called for justice not only for their case but also for several more.
