PRD will proclaim on Sunday, in its convention, its new authorities

More than 4000 delegates from the country and sections have been invited to the event

SANTO DOMINGO. More than 4300 representatives of different party agencies from the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) will proclaim this Sunday the authorities for the four-year period 2014 2018, in a National Convention, according to Julio Mariñez, the chairman of the National Organizing Commission.

Victor Gomez Casanova, the Communications Director of the PRD, and spokesman of the commission, said that the activity will take place in the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.

During the event they will proclaim the authorities that were elected, which include the president, Miguel Vargas, the Secretary general and the Secretary of organization, Junior Santos and Anibal Diaz Belliard, the municipal and sectional leadership as well as the leadership of the popular fronts. Gomez Casanova noted that in the overseas sectional, whose president is the deputy Rafael Vasquez, they have accredited 98 delegates coming from the United States, Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands, Canada, Venezuela, Panama and Europe.

Qualitative and quantitative changes

The spokesman for the CNO said that the president and leader of the PRD, Miguel Vargas Maldonado, reported that in his speech to the assembly he will present the assembly with a package of proposals oriented to produce important quantitative and qualitative changes for the future work of the White Party.

A guarantee of order and security of the attendees

The CNO reported that the activity will begin at 8:00 a.m. The delegates and invitees will enter the Volleyball Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center with an identification card, which includes first and last names, the number of the cédula and a photograph, along with a barcode which also registers electronically the information of the address, telephone number polling station and another photograph.

Access will not be granted to the meeting, if there is not an accreditation presented, and it is expressly prohibited to enter the place carrying any kind of weapon or object which could serve as a weapon.

According to the CNO, all the details relating to the legal part, which includes observation by representatives of the Central Electoral Board (J CE) and the members of the Dominican College of Public Notaries, have been duly provided for. Also, the organization of the presentation, which will include an impressive stage, the measures by the order and security personnel, which together with a protocol team will carry out the logistics for all of the persons attending the convention has been taken care of.

And in a like manner, a platform will be prepared which will facilitate the coverage of the meeting by the national media. Only a set number of vehicles properly identified will be able to enter the area of the Convention and they will enter by the gate on the 27 February Avenue.
