Stage A-1 of the Nueva Barquita will be ready in August

NORTH SANTO DOMINGO. The construction companies of the first stage (A-1) of the apartments of the "Nueva Barquita" have a commitment to deliver 11 lots of housing units, between 30 August and 30 September of this year.

"The supervision is working with the contractors in such a way, that they will be able to incorporate the necessary resources in order that they are effective, duplicating in some cases the work brigades for different activities," said yesterday the coordinator of the housing project, Patricia Cuevas, without specifying the number of apartments in the first phase.

During a tour through the project, located in the sector of La Javilla of Sabana Perdida, the architect revealed that the project (apartments and other facilities) shows a 41% completion.

"As far as equipment goes, the diagnostic center has been ready for some time; the child care center has improved its rhythm, and with regards to the high school, there is a commitment to deliver it by August," she said.

Regarding the second stage (A-2) of the Nueva Barquita, she said that progress is satisfactory, due to the fact that the contractors are working in a fluid manner.

Although the delivery of the apartments is set for the referred time frame, Cuevas assured the reporters from Diario Libre that a large part of the families who reside in the sector of la Barquita in Los Mina, a municipality of East Santo Domingo, will begin transfering to their new habitat between November and December of this year.
