Technicians at Ministry of Education begin 48 hour strike

SD. Technical Teachers from the Directorate of Technical - Professional Education at the Ministry of Education began yesterday a 48 hour work stoppage at the 18 regional centers, in answer to the negative by the Minister of Education, Carlos Amarante Baret, to issue the payment corresponding to their Performance Evaluation.

The technical teachers are also demanding compliance with an agreement signed by the Ministry and representatives of the Association of Technicians in Education, in which it was established that retroactive pay corresponding to the months of June, July, August and September equal to 17% of the salaries of the technicians would finally be paid last 6 October.

They said that in case that there is no solution within 48 hours, they will march tomorrow starting at 8:30 a.m. to the headquarters of the ministry of Education.
