In the midst of pomp and ceremony Leavy Nin leaves prison

Nin Batista was silent before the many questions from reporters

SANTO DOMINGO. After going through several legal procedures, Leavy Nin Batista was freed yesterday on parole. Nin Batista is the wife of the drug trafficker Jose David Figueroa Agosto, and this makes her the first member of the network of money launderers of assets coming from drug trafficking and other crimes attributed to the Puerto Rican capo to get out of jail.

The parole of Nin Batista was ordered in San Cristobal by the judge for the Execution of the Sentence in that jurisdiction, Willys de Jesus Nuñez, who handed down the sentence Number 1540-2013-303-01 of conditional suspension of the sentence (parole).

Likewise, he issued the control order related to the suspension of prison, for the space of two years and six months.

He order the notification of the decree to the judge for the Execution of the Sentence for the National District, Saulo Ysabel Diaz, so that he can supervise and impose any additional measure that he feels convenient, since the convict lives in the area of his jurisdiction. Nin Batista was released at 2:45 p.m. by Judge Diaz.

The magistrate issued the sentence Number 1082-2013 of control for the probationary period which Nin Bastista and/or Fior Jansen Rodriguez, who has her residence listed on Privada Avenue of the Mirador North sector.

He set the date for the end of the regulations imposed on the convict for 16 April 2016.

He ordered that besides the compliance with the rules which she is under, she should answer all of the requirements that the tribunal asks of her, with the purpose of monitoring the control of the measures that were imposed, "so that in the following regular visits, the places where she is to do community or social service will be assigned, the same as her courses of technical preparation."

In San Cristobal, the order for release on parole was issued by Magistrate de Jesus Nuñez at 11:15 in the morning and sent to the Najayo Correctional and Rehabilitation Center for Women by lawyer Felix Portes, who arrived with her 15 minutes later.

In the interim, in the prison security was reinforced by agents of the Unit for the Transfer of High Risk Inmates, who guarded her until her arrival at the Palace of Justice in Santo Domingo.

The caravan of vehicles of reporters and members of the security followed the vehicle in which Nin Batista was transferred to Santo Domingo. This caused traffic jams and surprise among drivers. The former inmate was delivered to the judicial authorities by the director of the New Penitentiary System, Ysmael Paniagua.

The farewell from the prison by Nin Batista included photographs with her companions, hugs and makeup. The wife of Figueroa Agosto did not forget a single detail for her departure from jail, the clothes use for the occasion stressed fuchsia and white.

She wore white pants, an off the shoulder blouse with fuchsia prints, high heels that were also white, white sunglasses, a white belt and a fine fuchsia pocketbook. She also had some gold accessories and was made up by one of her prison companions.
