Municipal government of D.N. increases fees

Prices increase by 7.76% over what citizens paid during 2011

SD. By means of an ordinance sent through the Department of Income of the City Council of the National District (ADN), the city increased municipal taxes by 7.76%.

The new tariff structure includes the taxes covering public spaces, outside publicity, public spectacles, pool halls, drainage pipes, cable television, filming and the taxes on sales modules of which there are more than 60.

The increases are contained in the recommendations carried out by the Department of Income of the ADN within the 2012 budget that was approved by the city council.

The document recommends "broadening the tax base through the actualization of the database; make the collections more efficient in order to expand the percentage of collection, including forced collections when it is necessary; and obtain greater income through the recovery of occupied spaces and their indemnity paid to the ADN."

With regards to public spaces, an increase of access ramps was ordered. Also taxes were set for awnings, taxis, refrigerators and showcases that occupy the public space and the occupation of public space on Atarazana and El Conde streets.

Regarding public space, the ordinance also increases the tax on music equipment in cafeterias, bars, discotheques, ice cream parlors, pizza joints, motels and hotels, night clubs and "colmadones". Regarding the payment of filming fees, these include the containers, parking and the certifications. With regard to the sales kiosks, the sidewalk shacks, tents, banners, street signs, towers, life and custom, permits for knives, installation of LPG plants, closure of roads, tricycles, ditches, refrigerators, as well as signs on the streets and on the sidewalks, all have new taxes to be collected.
